We had so much fun with the kids the entire month of December in preparation of Christmas. There were so many fun things we did with friends and family which makes the season so special. Sophie understood Christmas this year (or at least the Santa & gifts part) so we started teaching her about the real meaning of Christmas by reading books about the birth of baby Jesus and taking her to church.
We spent Christmas Eve at the Giglia home with my side of the family. We now have 5 cousins under the age of 5 so it's always a lot of fun to watch the kids play and laugh. Erin & Bryan do a wonderful job of hosting the family and they have a great play room to entertain the kids. This was Lyla's first Christmas. She was a perfect baby and I was amazed to see how big and strong she is getting already!
Christmas morning we spent at home with our immediate family. Santa brought Sophie a big girl princess bike with a seat in the back for her new baby. She also got a Leapfrog and a camera. She was very excited to learn how to ride her bike. Ethan's gift from Santa was a tall car track that winds down and makes noises.
Later that afternoon, we headed over to Barry & Jerana's house for Christmas dinner. Aunt Melody and Uncle Craig were there along with Ashleigh (who is due with baby Preston in March) and her husband Jason. Unlike my side of the family, this year Sophie & Ethan were the only kids. Which means that Sophie got to help everyone open their presents. Lucky her!
